Description
DECKv1b piControl simulation: 20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison
Based on beta3rc13_1850, but with a slightly updated version of the code base.
Minor retuning of clubb_c14: 1.08 → 1.06. This is expected to only change net TOA fluxes by a few hundreds of a W/m2.
Initial conditions from 0331-01-01 of beta3rc13_1850.

Jan 29, 2018 : initial configuration and testing
Jan 30, 2018 : simulation started
Feb 15, 2018 : v1b is selected as the final tuning due (see DECKv1 Initialization and final tuning)
Mar 27, 2018 : 500 year control simulation is complete

Hi @Chris Golaz,
I'm working with @Jon Wolfe and @Luke Van Roekel (Unlicensed) to check the simulated water table depth in the land model to understanding the land water budget. The /global/cscratch1/sd/golaz/ACME_simulations/20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison/archive/lnd/hist/ only contains output for 10. Do you know were I can find the remaining history files for the land model?
@Chris Golaz is on leave now. The simulation is stored on HPSS:/home/g/golaz/2018/E3SM_simulations/20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison. It uses zstash when backing up to HPSS. You can follow the steps here (https://e3sm-project.github.io/zstash/docs/html/quickstart.html#extract) to list and extract the files you need.

I downloaded /home/g/golaz/2018/E3SM_simulations/20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison/000000.tar from HPSS and it only contained atmosphere history files. The other tar files in /home/g/golaz/2018/E3SM_simulations/20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison/ appear to be of the same size as 000000.tar. Can you tell which *.tar contains land history files?
You will need to download the index.db file from HPSS. You can use command:
sqlite3 zstash/index.db "select * from files;"to list all the files and figure out which tar file contains the files you need. The steps are documented on the page (https://e3sm-project.github.io/zstash/docs/html/quickstart.html#extract) mentioned above.

Hi @Chris Golaz, the data in the lnd/hist of this run is mostly gone- was it scrubbed? Not written anymore? Can you let me know if its in HPSS somewhere? I am looking in /global/cscratch1/sd/golaz/ACME_simulations/20180129.DECKv1b_piControl.ne30_oEC.edison/archive/lnd/hist and I see 0001 to 0010 only. More years were there at some point since I used it before I am almost certain... Thanks!
